As some of you might have heard already, a new member has been added to the team. Before I start my formal introduction, I’ll explain how I came here.
It all started at the D1:10 round 3: Coronel Kartracing. After Ricardo and I did some pretty sweet tandem drifts, Tijs came to us and said: “You guys make it look too easy; Whilst everyone else at the track is failing big time, you just drive every run door to door!” I was already having a good day, but this comment made it even better!
A week later, after talking to the other team members, Tijs contacted me and asked me if I wanted to join Team Wreck it Sideways. The answer was: Yeah! Sadly it was a bit too late to finish my team body in time for the big unveil at HFCC last weekend, since I also have to finish my bodyshell for the D1RC World Championship the last weekend of August. I will make sure that I have it at the next round of the D1:10 in September!
Well, next question is, who am I?
My name is Bop Westerduin, I’m currently 18 years old and I live near Rotterdam in The Netherlands. I started rc-drifting in 2007, and after a short break in 2009, I picked it up again in 2010.
Aside from RC drifting, I am a car enthusiast with a special place in my heart for the JDM scene. Whenever I’m not drifting, I’m listing music, ranging from Dubstep through Trance to Rock music. Armin van Buuren once said: “You shouldn’t be a prisoner of your own style”, and I fully agree to that. That’s why I don’t just like Japanese cars because they are Japanese. I like them because I think they are cool 🙂
Well, I guess that’s sort of who I am, and you can expect to see some posts by me in the near future!
Byebye for now,
– Bop
