As most of you probably have read, I’m currently building a TC-H. This TC-H will be based on a Cyclone TC that I bought recently, and this TC came with an Exotec Lipo chassis. As it would be a shame to let this brilliant piece of kit go to waste, I decided to also rebuild my primary Cyclone, and base it on the Exotec chassis… Read more after the jump!
The plan is to use the TC-H in competition and demo’s, and have the TC-E as a backup when needed, with a proven and reliable setup.
And that is how it started, 2 chassis that were both VERY dirty and in a need of some TLC. I started with completely stripping the old cyclone..
… and clean every single part. After this, the parts look like this:
After having rebuild the Diffs and shocks following Gilles Groskamps tutorial . I also found some brand new reversible suspension arms, which would also be used on this car.
And I then began rebuilding everything. Some pictures of the build are found below, the rest is here .
New bearings are used on the car, because the bearings didn’t like the TURBOTURBO setup I used at the D1RC Worlds last year!
Of course, a car built by me always has the modded drive shafts and cups..
Car nearing completion..
and..
DONE!
I’ve added the setup below. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, either here or on our Facebook page!
