Hello and welcome everyone to the first post of 2013. Last year has been a quite year for this blog but 2013 will bring more content and regular posts!
First thing on the calendar is a demo at the DHI cup in Denmark which Tijs and I will be attending, so I thought now was the time to give the chassis a bit of TLC before the new season kicks off!
More after ze jump >>
Chassis wise I’ve only changed the bearings, front axles and some rounded out screws. I’m pretty amazed by how well this chassis has survived last years beating! I did ofcourse rebuild the shocks with some TN-racing bladders and MuchMore oil.
Whilst the Speedpassion V3.0 is a very fast 10.5t motor, they are REALLY(really) sensitive and mid-drift power cuts have cost me battles more than once last year, so I thought it was time to ditch some speed but go for reliability. That’s why I chose an LRP Vector x11 10.5t, which have proven themselves in buggy racing to be the most reliable motor out there!
I decided to leave the Scrutineering sticker from when Tijs and I were at GripZero in France on the chassis because it reminds me of an epic weekend and a good vibe everytime I see it 🙂
And that’s it! Well, I do have the specs for people who are interested:

looks good 😉 Where do you buy your new ball bearings? I have a speedpassion 10.5T MMM on the way. I hope that these are better than the older versions. 🙂
The newer V3.0’s are better too. Both the V3.0 and MMM now have the darker grey motor housings and renewed sensorboards. They are a lot better than the old shiny V3.0’s.
What Tijs said, it is the 1st gen V3.0 that had the gremlins. The bearings are from a store on ebay, they are cheap and yet very durable 😉
